It has been a year since the pandemic broke out to the world and has brought a whirlwind of emotions to people – anxiety, fear, depression, sadness. Last February, to give emphasis and encourage its employees to practice self-love and self-care, Connected Freight launched a month-long Valentine's Day celebration, "LOVE YOURSELF", filled with love and fun activities.

Connected Freight had activities like Quiz Day Wednesdays, where the Global team solved various puzzles to win a prize. Of course, the organization doesn’t want its employees to just work and work, rather, it wants them to work and rack their brains and eyes with some teasers. Another activity lined up was the LoveGram Photo Competition, where employees need to showcase the people or anything they love by sharing a captioned photo. The best photo and caption will win a prize and will be featured in the next #LifeAtConnectedFreightBlog!
To help the employees practice both self-love and self-care even more, Connected Freight also prepared wellness activities for the local teams. In the Philippines, employees, and even their dependents, were encouraged to take care of their physical and mental health through the Annual Physical Examination which was scheduled from February until March.
Connected Freight recognizes that, for some, this may not be a good time because of the threat brought by COVID-19, and the organization respects that. For others, the Annual Physical Exam is a good way to check what their physical body needs, especially to cope up with the challenges and sedentary life that this remote work set-up have brought. This is also a good reminder that everyone should also aim to protect themselves from other diseases or conditions which can be triggered by prolonged exposure to monitors or headsets, long hours of sitting, lack of opportunity to walk, and others.
A wellness webinar entitled: "Self-Love through Self Care" was also conducted by a guest speaker, Dr. Jeremiah Simeon A. Trinidad III, MD last February 24, 2021
As they say, “You cannot give what you do not have”. Connected Freight hopes that through the different activities, its employees have taken the time to reflect and learn how to “deliberately” love and care for themselves even more, to be more capable of loving and caring for others.
